Short description of the location, geographical position:
Uetersen is a city in the district of Pinneberg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated 30km (18 miles) northwest of Hamburg at the small river Pinnau, close to the river Elbe.
Uetersen is the home of the “Rosarium Uetersen”, the oldest and largest rose garden in Northern Germany, created in 1929.
Our river – brief description: (Pinnau)
The river Pinnau is a dexter rather easterly tributary of the river Elbe. The Pinnau is 41km long and flows in the southernly part of Schleswig-Holstein.
It arises in the near of Henstedt-Ulzburg and open out into the Elbe.
The Pinnau is 18,83km navigable. From Pinneberg to the outlet.
