About the participants:
We are the pupils from Georgius-Agricola Grammar school in Chemnitz. We all attend the 8th grade.

Our special features:
Our school is the oldest school in Chemnitz, so it’s a listed building. There are two bilingual classes in our grade and one class, where the pupils learn sciences very well. What’s special about our school, too, is our own observatory and the organ in our auditorium. We’ve got all sorts of activities and an own people magazine, called “Penne Post”. We’ve got a well assorted library, too, and up to 100 computers.

Our strong points:
One of our biggest strengths is our team spirit. We keep together no matter what happens. Regardless of what subject, everybody can take part and everybody will be supported. We are a school with courage, because everybody is accepted how he or she is. Since of that, we´ve got an award: “Schule ohne Rassismus. Schule mit Courage” (School without rassicm. School with courage). Our school performances where seen in tests, contests and also in newspapers. So how you can see, our school is a worthy opponent for you and we are rightly here in Dessau.

Short description of the location, geographical position:
Chemnitz is the third largest city in the southeast of Saxony and our grammar school is situated in the it´s centre. Our school is located near the Down Town and easy reachable from the Central Bus-Station.

Our River – brief description:
Name:   Chemnitz
Location:  Sachsen, Chemnitz
Beginning:  Confluence of the rivers Zwönitz and Würschnitz
Estuary:  near Wechselburg in the Zwickauer Mulde

Our River, the Chemnitz, goes through the city in the underground and the city-park in the overground. The Chemnitz isn´t a very big river and only paper ships can float on it. The name comes from “kamernica”, which means “stony ground”. We like our river, because when we were young, we played in it.

Our expectations for the outcome of the project:
We expect from this camp, that we learn much new and interesting about the nature and the environment. We hope that we will have much fun with old and new friends. And we hope, that we can practise our English.

Our suggestions/campaign proposals:
We haven’t got any suggestions, because it’s our first year in this project. And we are just happy to take part. We will let us surprise.
